Wednesday February 1 - Let's Walk
through Almond Blossom
A moderately
easy walk of about 2.5 hours through orchards of almond trees and
up on the barrocal limestone with stunning views.
10.30am start - meet at the cafe in the centre of the village. From the EN125 - drive to Boliqueime and in the centre follow the signs for the A22 after 1.5km turn left towards Loule. After the quarry turn left for Alte and after 500m at the T-junction turn left again. Now follow the road for about 10km, whenyou come to the village of Alta Fica. After passing through the village take the road to the right signed 'Nave do Barrao'and follow for 2km the cafe is on the right. Saturday 4th February - Let's Walk from
Albandeira Beach
This circular walk of just over 2hours will take you along the cliff tops famous for its rock formations and deep into the countryside. 14.00pm start meet in the carpark at Albandeira. Drive along the EN125 eastwards through Lagoa and after passing the International School on the left take the first road on right (direction Benagil). Follow the road for about 2km towards Benagil when you will come to a small roundabout with a sign to left for Albandeira. Take this road which is narrow and follow it all the way to the carpark where the road ends! Wednesday 8th February - Let's Walk to
Aguas Bellas
A challenging walk of 2.5 hours through spectacular scenery, with some climbs but worth all the effort. 10.30am start - meet at the Cafe Terinho, 5km from Silves. Drive over bridge into Silves, turn right & at next roundabout take the 2nd exit for the castle. You pass the cemetery on your right and then turn right. At the far end of the road turn right again and follow the road for 5km, the cafe is on the left. Wednesday 15th
February - Let's Walk in the Natural Park
An easy walk of about 2.5hours through the Cape St Vincent Natural Park - great flowers and views. 10.30am start - meet by the church in Vila do Bispo. Take the EN 125 from Lagos to Sagres and after 20km take first exit for Vila do Bispo - the church is just along on the right and there are cafes close by. Novo
This amazing 2.5 hour walk takes you above and deep into the heart of the Algibre river where the spring flowers are totally magnificent. 10.30am start, there is no cafe to meet at. Take the road to Paderne and then drive up through the village towards Boliqueime. Just after leaving Paderne you have a cafe on the left and a turning to Moinho Novo. Turn left and follow the road for a good 3-4km then the road bends sharply right - we will meet here on the bend, easy to park. Wednesday 22nd February - Let's Walk over the
hill tops
A more challenging circular walk of 2.5 hours through the countryside with superb views to north and south. 10.30am start - meet at Cafe Pescadores. From Silves take the road towards Messines, after 3km you pass a large abandoned factory on the right, 500m further on turn left towards Pinheiro and Garrado. After 300m the road bends left and the cafe is on the corner. Wednesday 29th February - Let's Walk from
Caldas de Monchique
This circular walk takes you through the countryside around the spa centre of Caldas - some climbs and a small stream to cross! 10.30am start - meet at the Cafe/ Restaurant Foz do Banho. From the EN125 take the road to Monchique and after 10km you pass the new 'Longevity Wellness' hotel on the right. Just beyond this on the main road the cafe is on the left just before the small roundabout. PRIVATE
