Half day guided walking tours in the Algarve

We organise a programme of 2 - 3 hour guided walks which changes monthly, everyone is very welcome to come along and there is no need to book. There is a charge of 5 euro for each walk which includes a donation to charity (we are actively sponsoring 3 children in third world countries).

 GUIDED WALKS

Saturday April 12th & Monday April 14th - Let's Walk from Pereira
A walk through countryside that still retails traditional charm - moderately easy with no real climbs.
10.30 start - meet at the cafe Gonçalves in Pereira. Leave the A22 at the Odiaxere / Mx Grande exit and when you arrive at the EN125 turn right for Odiaxere and after 500m turn right again for Arao. Follow this road for 8.5km when you arrive in Pereira with the cafe on the right (by a junction).
 
Wednesday April 23rd - Let's Walk on the West Coast.
An absolutely fabulous 3 hour walk through unknown countryside and along the cliff tops near Carrapateira and Bordeira. Not to be missed.
10.30 start at the cafe in the centre of Bordeira. Travel west on the A22 and when it ends follow the signs for Aljezur. After 15km turn left towards Sagres and follow the road for 8km when you will see a sign for Bordeira on the left. Turn and drive into the village (cafe is on the right).
 
Saturday April 26th & Monday April 28th - Let's Walk near Alcalar
 A moderately easy 2 hour walk through totally unspoilt countryside and eucalyptus woods.
10.30am start - meet at the blue and white cafe. From the A22 take the Alvor exit and at the roundabout follow the signs for Figueira, this brings you onto the EN125. Take the first turn to the left signed to Alcalar and Casais. You now follow the road for 9km when the road will bend very sharply to the left onto a bridge at thie point on your right you will see a large blue and white house the end part is a cafe.

Wednesday May 7 - Lets Walk on the West Coast
A superb 2.5 hour walk through unspoilt countryside, cliff tops and along the beach deep in the Cape St Vincent Natural Park.
10.30 start meet at the entrance to the 'Perimetro Florestal' near Vila do Bispo. From the A22 take the road to Sagres and turn off at the exit for Vila do Bispo & Aljezur, drive along the Aljezure road for 1km and the sign for the Florestal is on the left - there is plenty of parking space.
 
Saturday May 10 & Monday May 12 - Let's Walk from Boa Hora
A moderately easy 2 hour walk deep in the heart of the barrocal - totally unspoilt.
10.30 start at the Igreja Boa Hora. Exit the A22 for Boliqueime and follow signs for Loule. After the quarry turn left and at the next T junction turn left again. Drive through Parragil and 200m down the hill you come to Boa Hora, the sign for the church is a further 200m with a turn to the left by a pink house.
 
Wednesday May 21 - Lets Walk in Monchique
A 2.5 hour circular walk down hidden valleys deep in the heart of the Monchique Hills
10.00 start meet at Bica Boa cafe / restaurant. Drive into the town of Monchique and in the centre go right (the old Lisbon road). Follow the road for 1km, you leave the town the road bends sharply to the right and Bica Boa is just along on the right side
 
Saturday May 24 - Let's Walk the Alvor Estuary
An easy 2 hour walk through the estuary to see the birds, the salt pans and the tidal flats.
10.00 start meet at the O Aquario cafe / tabacaria in Mexilhoeiro Grande. Leave the A22 at the MG / Odiaxere exit and at the second roundabout take the left exit towards Portimao. Follow the road for about 1km when you will see a sign to the left to Mexilhoeiro turn here and the cafe is a 100m up on the right.

PRIVATE GUIDED WALKS

We can provide you with an exclusive walk guide with local extensive knowledge who can take you and your friends for a private walk ( 3 – 4 hours) in an area of your choice. They will be able to give you a direct insight into the lives and livelihoods of the local people (remember nearly 90% of the Algarve remains unspoilt and undeveloped).

Our charges for this are as follows:
1 – 4 people 80 euros
5 – 8 people 100 euros
