This seven night walking holiday offers you a wide variety of scenery and is truly away from it all. Your first 2 nights are in the mountains of Monchique before moving to a much acclaimed Quinta which sits on the waters waters edge, nestled in the wild hills of the lower Alentejo – a sparsely populated region of exceptional and unique beauty. Then on to the unspoilt west coast, part of the Cape St. Vincent Natural Park for another 2 nights. This walking week is for those who really do want to get away from it all.

Transfer from your arrival point in the Algarve to Monchique. Overnight Monchique

A choice of walks: either along the Monchique valley where traditional farming methods are still practised (14km/8.6miles) or up to the second highest peak with panoramic views down to the coast (17km/10.5miles). Overnight Monchique

Transfer to the Santa Clara lake to walk through the valley to the village of the same name and continuing through the countryside to the Quinta which is on the shores of the lake, 16km/10miles. Overnight Santa Clara

A walk from the Quinta today which allows you to discover some of the oldest hamlets and villages in Portugal, 10km/6.5miles. Overnight Santa Clara

A short transfer takes you to the start of the walk which is in on the north shores of the lake; this area is sparsely populated but so beautiful, 12km/7.5miles. Overnight Santa Clara

Transfer to the west coast and the beautiful village of Zambujeira. From here you walk southwards along the cliff tops to the village of Odeceixe, 16.0km/10miles. Overnight Odeceixe

A circular walk through the beautiful Seixe valley to the beach, 8km/5miles. Overnight Odeceixe
