Arrival in Porto & overnight
Transfer to Campos Verdes to walk along quiet roads and natural woodland to Arcos, 18.5km. Overnight Arcos. (See below for an alternative option)
Walking from Arcos to Barcelos with over half a day in quiet country lanes where you can let your mind wander and time at the end to discover the origns of the the 'Barcelos Cockerel, 20km. Overnight Barcelos.
A really beautiful walk through vineyards and woodland crossing the Neiva river valley to Balugaes, 15km. Overnight Balugaes.
From Balugaes you climb gently up to Portela and then it is downhill all the way to the oldest town in Portugal – Ponte de Lima, 19km. Overnight Ponte de Lima
Today the route passes by the vineyards of the famous ‘vina verde’ wine before a short but steep climb where you are rewarded with spectacular views, 18km. Overnight Rubiaes.
Apart from a short climb to leave the Coura valley most of today is downhill through ancient countryside first to the walled town of Valença and then over the river Minho to the historic town of Tui, 19km. Overnight Tui

For those who want to discover a little more about the region we recommend missing Day 2 of the itinerary, instead we will transfer you to Arcos to walk to Barcelos and having a second night in Ponte de Lima where we give you a circular walk of 16km / 10 miles |
